Honeymoon Plans

After months of planning, celebrating, and sharing so many meaningful moments with the people we love, we are looking forward to beginning married life with a little adventure of our own.

For our honeymoon, we are heading to Italy—a place that has been on both of our travel lists for years. We wanted a journey that would give us time to slow down while still leaving plenty to discover, so we are planning a route that brings together historic cities, quiet countryside, and a few peaceful days beside the sea.

We will begin in Rome, wandering through streets filled with history, stopping for long dinners, and probably eating far more gelato than either of us would admit. From there, we will travel to Florence, where we hope to spend our days exploring galleries, discovering small cafés, and getting pleasantly lost among the old streets.

The final part of our trip will take us to the Amalfi Coast. This is the part we have deliberately planned the least. We imagine slow mornings overlooking the water, boat rides between coastal towns, spontaneous swims, and dinners that stretch late into the evening. After the excitement of the wedding, having nowhere urgent to be sounds just about perfect.

Of course, knowing us, there will be missed trains, unexpected detours, overpacked suitcases, and at least one disagreement about directions. Those unplanned moments often become our favorite stories, so we are leaving room for the trip to surprise us.

More than the destinations themselves, we are excited about what this journey represents: our first adventure as a married couple and the beginning of all the places we have yet to see together.

We will return with plenty of photographs, a few souvenirs, and—if everything goes according to Joseph’s plan—enough pasta recommendations to last a lifetime.
